About Me
Hi! I’m Christina.
I am a second generation Chinese Canadian with a passion for exploring design, storytelling, and technology to help make positive social and environmental change.
In my work, I am a strategic communications professional with experience supporting large public-sector infrastructure digital communications and engagement initiatives. I’ve created comprehensive digital communications plans, designed accessible and compelling multimedia content, coordinated stakeholders, and translated complex information into clear, plain-language messaging.
Through strategic storytelling and collaborative problem-solving, I strive to create communications that contribute to more connected, inclusive, and resilient communities.

One of my favourite quotes is:
“A single grain of rice can tip the scale.”
– The Emperor, Mulan (1998)
Three words I would use to describe myself are:

Dependable
I can be counted on to turn ideas into action.
I take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered with care, accountability, and a focus on results.

Compassionate
People are at the heart of everything I do.
I lead with empathy, listen with intention, consider diverse perspectives, and build authentic relationships that lead to more thoughtful and impactful outcomes.

Resourceful
I approach unfamiliar challenges with curiosity and initiative.
When I encounter something new, I proactively seek out solutions, embrace continuous learning, and enjoy expanding my skills through self-directed problem-solving.
Some of my areas of interest are:
- Public and community engagement
- Urban sustainability and urban planning
- Climate action and ecological revitalization
- Food and nutrition
Things I’m currently in the process of learning:
- Responsible and strategic adoption of AI: As AI continues to reshape the communications landscape, I believe it’s important to understand how to leverage emerging technologies responsibly, thoughtfully and effectively. I recently completed a certification focused on Generative AI adoption in the public sector, covering foundational AI literacy, organizational upskilling and change readiness, and emerging agentic AI tools. The program strengthened my understanding of how AI can support organizational efficiency, workflows and service delivery, while emphasizing the importance of human-centred adoption, responsible implementation and maintaining public trust. I’m eager to continue building my AI literacy and understanding how these tools can be integrated meaningfully into communications practices.
- As a second generation settler, continually learning and educating myself on racism, decolonization, reconciliation and finding ways to incorporate anti-racism, equity, diversity, and inclusion into my work and daily life is important to me. I am always looking to develop myself as an individual who is committed to advancing safe and equitable spaces. I have taken Lily Zheng’s “A Playbook to Achieve Equity Anywhere” and it was insightful and applicable and operationalizing DEI work.
- As of December 2025, I’ve recently completed a Continuing Studies course at SFU, Internal Communications and Change Management. As social, political, and organizational landscapes are constantly evolving, I want to continually learn how to be a more strategic communicator, helping organizations navigate change by building trust, engaging employees, and building trusted pathways for honest dialogue along the way. In this course, I learned how to be an effective internal communications champion, navigating change with transparency, respect, authenticity and clarity. I’m excited to learn more about change management!
- Website builders such as Wix and WordPress, as digital spaces are such a strong resource for information these days. Web pages can help individuals and businesses legitimize their work, share their knowledge, and strengthen their brand. Learning to create and navigate digital spaces while building upon my UX/UI knowledge is such a powerful skill I’d like to further develop.
