2023 | GRAPHIC DESIGN AND
VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS

An annual report that visually represents the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue’s impact in advancing sustainability and equity through dialogue to its donors, stakeholders, and partners at Simon Fraser University.

The Objective

To create a comprehensive, visually compelling report summarizing the stories, successes, and milestones the various initiatives at the Centre for Dialogue achieved in the past fiscal year.

The Process

I communicated and collaborated with the Centre’s various stakeholders to compile, organize, and edit all submissions for the report.

This project required a high level of professionalism, organization, and attention-to-detail, as not only was I representing the Centre when reaching out to the various stakeholders, this high-level report would be representing the entire organization’s yearly efforts and impact.

After multiple rounds of revisions and final reviews, the submissions were organized into a cohesive, visually compelling layout using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Given that many initiatives addressed complex social and climate issues, I worked closely with stakeholders to translate select content into plain language where needed. This ensured the report accurately reflected the Centre’s breadth of impact and the scope of its affiliated initiatives and individuals, while maintaining clarity and alignment with brand standards.

We wanted this comprehensive report to accurately represent the Centre’s complexity and scope of impact of its affiliated initiatives and individuals while maintaining brand consistency and clarity.

The Outcome

I delivered a polished, press-ready report that transformed a wide range of complex initiatives into a clear, cohesive narrative for both digital and print audiences.

By showcasing the Centre’s annual impact in an accessible and visually engaging format, the report became an important asset for communicating value to existing and prospective partners, funders, and donors.

Why This Project was Significant to Me

The SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue is a complex organization with numerous housed initiatives, affiliated initiatives, Fellow programs, and partner initiatives. While these programs are connected through the mutual goal of advancing democratic participation, urban sustainability, equity and inclusion through dialogue, it can be a complex organization to understand and navigate.

In this context, I was pleased to support the Centre by developing a report that clearly showcased and celebrated its work, as well as the achievements of its partners, stakeholders, and community members, in an approachably written, accessible, and engaging format.
